THE UNEARTHLY (1957)

John Carradine as a mad scientist attempting to reverse the aging process but really just creating a bunch of zombies and monsters that resemble the half-animal people in ISLAND OF LOST SOULS. The legendary Tor Johnson is his henchman that keeps his captive guests in line waiting to be his next subjects of medical-experimentation. One of these includes THE 50 FOOT WOMAN herself Alison Hayes! Clunky but fun 50s junk.

Originally released on a double-bill with that giant grasshopper movie THE BEGINNING OF THE END.

Known in Spanish as THE MODERN FRANKENSTEIN:

and in Italian as THE HOUSE OF MONSTERS!

THE BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS (1961)

People say that Ed Wood made the worst movies of all time. After sitting through this his films look like works of genius in comparison. This thing has so much voice-over narration that you feel like you're watching a documentary. Unfortunately it's a very dull documentary that doesn't really make any sense. The movie is not even 1 hour long but it seems to drag on forever. The one positive thing is there was actually some unexpected nudity right at the beginning with a girl getting out of a shower and drying herself. Tor Johnson does make an impressive looking monster. Too bad he wasn't in a better movie.

The trailer is definitely better than the whole flick:

PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE (1959)

This has got to be the best movie that has been labeled the worst movie of all time. I mean it's not dull like a ton of other worse movies I can think of. The acting might not be great but it's not the worst I've seen. I think this would only be called the worst by someone who hasn't dug very deep into the cinematic muck that's out there. Even if we're just gonna go by the low-budget to call it bad there are a billion shot-on-video pieces of shit that have less of an aesthetic value than this. Features Bela Lugosi, Tor Johnson and Vampira. How could you possibly make the worst movie with a cast of that magnitude?  Just for its camp value alone you would have to label this a classic, which also describes most of Ed Wood's other movies.

“You earthlings are stupid, stupid, stupid!”
