GOOD BOY (2022)

 

 Well this is certainly a weird one. The story deals with this dude(Gard Lokke) who lives with a guy in a dog suit(a furry?) named Frank. He's not gay though and it's not a fetish thing, I think anyway, because he starts dating this lady who at first naturally thinks this a bit odd and then when she finds out he's rich and famous is totally cool with it. The problem I have with this movie is that I don't think any of the characters are very sympathetic which make it a bit of a tough watch. It's also not really much of a horror film even though they do introduce some suspense and violence towards the end. It also has a pretty unremarkable and abrupt ending. OK for a one-time look for weird cinema devotees though. AKA ME, YOU & FRANK

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO (2009)

  In the 2010's(when this was released in America) this seemed to be a pretty big deal, it was based on a series of books and garnered a big fancy Hollywood remake in 2011, but since then it seems to have dropped off of everyone's radar and I never see it referenced at all. That's kind of a shame since this is a really well-done movie that mixes drama, thriller, horror and action. There's Nazis, rape, serial killing and our main character(Noomi Rapace) is a brooding goth/punk chick. The one downside is that this film, and each of the subsequent sequels, are over 2 hours long! They do move quickly enough that it's not a drag but it certainly makes me never want to rewatch any of these very often. 

DEAD SNOW (2009)

Mindless fun Nazi-zombies in the snow movie. They got a fat movie nerd, sluts and all the typical stupid people in a slasher movie thing going on. The movie does seem to get sillier and sillier as it goes along so if you're not into stuff like BRAIN DAMAGE, DEAD ALIVE and THE EVIL DEAD, which this movie is trying really hard to be, you might want to skip it. I saw this one as part of an all-night horror movie fest and it kept me awake in the late hours so I guess that means something. Even if you're sick of zombie movies in general, which I pretty much am myself, this one has enough silly things going for it that it works for what it is. There is another foreign nazi-zombie flick that's supposed to be coming out eventually called WORST CASE SCENARIO which has an amazing trailer but I believe they ran out of money at some point so who knows what's going on with that one. Oh yeah and DEAD SNOW a.k.a.- DOD SNO is from Norway so learn to read subtitles you stupid inbred hillbilly assholes that can't do more than one thing at a time. I mean seriously if you can't look at subtitles and pay attention to a movie at the same time you really have some kinda brain deficiency. How the fuck do people like that even cross a street? "Ein! Zwei! Die!"
