HELL HAS NO BOUNDARY (1982)

So this woman(Wong Lai Fun) gets possessed by the demon of her former life which seeks vengeance any anyone who wronged her in their past lives. We get to see how terrible it was in a long flashback scene to World War II complete with Japanese war atrocities including molestation, rape and murder of adults and children. Apparently according to this demon we're all responsible for everything every one of our past lives has done. What a drag! This movie is not a drag though because we get some classic gross category III moments including drinking from a dirty toilet bowl, castration by a crab, death by being turned into a toilet paper mummy, a disembowled(and eaten!) little girl, maggot munching and it all ends with a good ol' Buddhist exorcism. Probably the highlight of a recent all-day category II marathon I caught at the local weirdo arthouse theater.

HORRIFYING EXPERIMENTS OF S.S. LAST DAYS(1977)

Best known as THE BEAST IN HEAT this is one those nazisploitation flicks that came out in the wake of ILSA, SHE-WOLF OF THE S.S. and it might be one of the sleaziest of the bunch. Macha Magall, who seems to have specialized in sleazy Italian cinema is our Ilsa stand-in and she spends pretty much the whole movie torturing various captives. This includes castration, water torture, ripping off fingernails and being eaten alive by some pretty calm-looking guinea pigs among other things. Of course the main focus is on Salvatore Baccaro as the title character who has been experimented on in order to become a raping/cannibalistic monster. His hobbies include pubic-hair eating and generally not being very nice to vaginas. There is the expected comeuppance dealt out at the end but still not the most feel-good film. Definitely memorable in it's debauchery though. AKA SS HELL CAMP and SS EXPERIMENT LOVE CAMP 2(making this a sequel to Sergio Garrone's 1976 Nazi movie)

ANOTHER PIECE OF ROMANCE (1994)

This might be the most castration-filled movie I've ever witnessed. The weird thing about that is that it's not really a horror movie of any sort or even a rape-revenge flick. What you get is the tale of a businessman trying to get some priceless magical vase from his competitor so he hires a wizard fellow who uses our ruthless businessman's virgin daughter to cast spells that end up with a bunch of guys getting their cocks cut off by angry scissor-wielding women. There's so much castrating going on that at one point even a little dog ends up the victim of this penis-snipping spree. While you might think this all sounds pretty horrific, in common category III-style of the time. a lot of it is just played for laughs, in particular one unlucky fellow who winds up the recipient of the aforementioned little dogdick to replace his formerly large appendage. A very strange Asian movie that I would only recommend to someone who can deal with a yuck-filled dick-chopping drama that is decidedly not very romantic despite it's title

The exciting chase scene!:

THE WITCH WHO CAME FROM THE SEA (1976)

Not entirely sure where to classify this movie. On the surface it's a horror film, especially if you're a man, since it features a demented mass-murdering, psychotic, castrating main character named Molly. It's also a psychological tale of a little girl, that's repeatedly raped by her father, who grows up to unsuccessfully deal with her childhood trauma and the way it's all filmed has some very art-house touches. Is it a commentary on feminism taken to an absurd extreme, ending in the destruction of all masculinity? Is it a meditation on the evils of male-dominated society? Taken at face value it's just the story of one very messed up lady and sort of the ultimate example of a rape-revenge tale where the revenge is manifested years after the rape against anyone with a penis who gets on the wrong side of Molly and just for that this one is highly re-watchable to me.
This has to be the best film that George "Buck" Flowers has a big part in, playing a pretty unlikable detective character. And speaking of unlikable characters all of the males presented here are not very lovable fellows. There is this one weirdo tattoo artist, complete with tattoos on the face, named Jack Dracula who, besides having the world's best name, seems to be the only adult male our protagonist seems very comfortable around. Maybe if ol' crazy Molly just hung around fringe artsy types and stayed away from those stupid jocks things woulda gone better for her. Interestingly she also gets along well with her two young nephews which I think shows her search for the innocence that was taken away from her at such a young age but I ain't no therapist.
To sum it up I'd say this is a great watch for horror fans as well as artsy film lovers and way better than a movie where a nutso bitch castrates men with a razor-blade should be.
