EMANUELLE IN AMERICA (1977)

  I've always thought of this one as my favorite of the "Black Emanuelle" films(7th in the series) but after rewatching it recently I think EMANUELLE AND THE LAST CANNIBALS and LOVE CAMP have surpassed it for me as far as being entertaining and overall less boring. That being said though this one certainly has the most memorably gratuitous scenes of depravity out of all these movies. In the uncensored version you get a lady jacking off a horse, some fairly realistic snuff movie scenes and hardcore sucking and fucking. Unfortunately there are also long boring bits inbetween that and a very nonsensical ending that takes place on an island inhabited by an African tribe? that Emanuelle(Laura Gemser) gets sold off to. Worth a look for sleazoid Eurotrash fantatics though. AKA BRUTAL NIGHTS

CONFESSIONS OF A BLUE MOVIE STAR (1978)

 This movie starts out with Roman Polanski chatting about snuff movies, then the middle section, which makes up most of the movie is a German fake documentary(mockumentary?) about the porn industry(this part reminded me of one of those German SCHOOLGIRL REPORT movies). Finally everything is wrapped up and we get a post-ending sequence where a guy with a shopping bag on his head, like The Unknown Comic, tells us about how he, and a film crew, got high and made an "actual" snuff movie while some gory outtakes from LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT play to show is what a "real" snuff film looks like.
 It's such a strange idea for a movie that I would recommend this just for the oddness of it all. The middle part does drag a lot and it takes what seems like forever, with a few goofy parts to chuckle at, to get to the big finale and "THE END, AND THE END OF ALL HUMANITY" as it nicely puts it. AKA THE EVOLUTION OF SNUFF

SNUFF (1976)

 This is a movie I've watched several times since first being disturbed by it as a young fella watching late one night on a shitty-looking VHS.  It's attempts to simulate an actual snuff film lingered in my head for a while after viewing .  That's only the last scene though and the rest of the movie isn't very good  but for some reason I keep getting drawn back to it.  Maybe it's the Charles Manson-esque tale of a cult of biker chicks led by a kooky character or maybe it's just knowing that the fake-snuff footage is coming that keeps me watching.
  By far the most interesting thing about this film is it's history which started out as a movie called SLAUGHTER made by legendary sleaze-movie couple Michael and Roberta Findlay.  This is where all the death-trippin' biker stuff comes from.  Then in the last few minutes you get a girl(who isn't in the 1st part of the movie at all) cut up and disemboweled for the camera.  This scene seems to still be a little bit of a mystery from what I can gather.  Like who the hell are these actors?  From what I've read it was shot in porn-director Carter Stevens studio so maybe he has the answers.
 After this film was released the guy who had the idea to make this thing in the 1st place, Al Shackleton, hired some protesters to picket the film(always a brilliant plan!) and then attracted real protesters and the rest is history.  Reported in newspapers and on TV as possibly a real snuff movie now in theaters!  What better advertising could you wish for?  Whispered about from then on(mostly by people who never saw it, I'm sure, since the actual killing looks about as fake as possible!) and freaking out uptight citizens anywhere it was mentioned.
 Sadly, I think if something like this was seriously tried today the producer might end up in jail on some made-up terrorism charge.

LIFE AND DEATH OF A PORNO GANG (2009)

Ever since experiencing A SERBIAN FILM I've been on the lookout for anything similarly messed-up from that country and this movie keeps getting mentioned here and there as an example of another mind-blowing slice of Eastern European madness.  While not as insane as A.S.F. this is a similar story of how fucked up things are, or at least were in the 90's in that country.  The similarities are that there's porn and there's snuff and it's set in a place that I never want to be stranded in.  Of course there are a lot of places in America like that also.  While this one never gets down to the offensive lows of children being abused like it's nastier follow up it does have some bestiality, a goat killing, fun with a chainsaw, self-mutilation, oddball sex acts and lots of general snuff-related nastiness. My favorite scene is probably where our porn gang gets raped in the woods by a  bunch of dirty old men.  At first, as you would expect, it's pretty horrific but by the end the old men are laughed at by our nasty perverts and it just about ruins their good time.  Very strange.  Overall a pretty engaging nihilistic adventure to feed your black little soul with if that's your trip.

A SERBIAN FILM (2010)

 After watching this I feel like I never want to wind up in Serbia.  Probably the most fucked up movie I've seen since MARTYRS.  A retired porn star gets a bunch of money to make one last movie.  It turns out to be a screwy artsy/snuff type of porn film.  Bad things happen to everyone in this including kids and even a newborn baby in one scene that will not leave your head for a long time after this movie is over.  Amazingly well done for the subject matter and content on display here.  Watch it if you want to be shocked and disgusted by a cinematic descent into porno hell.
