SOLDIER'S REVENGE (1986)

The first half of this movie seems like a really crappy version of FIRST BLOOD where we get a Vietnam vet(John Savage) returning to his hometown and getting hassled by everyone. A bar fight is the highlight of this section. For the 2nd bit it becomes a more typical war film where our hero gets involved in smuggling guns for some revolutionary South Americans. There are a few explosions, lots of gun fights and it's all fairly unremarkable.

RUCKUS 2 (1987)

Better known, if known at all, as ULTIMAX FORCE, since that's what it was released as in America. This has best been described as a Filipino version of Chuck Norris' MISSING IN ACTION mixed with AMERICAN NINJA. Instead of one Michael Dudikoff though we get 4 ninja masters heading back to 'Nam to rescue our POWs there. Plenty of explosions, gun-fu and other martial arts action ensue. Treacherous Viet Kong leader does treacherous things. It's about as predictable as can be and only really entertaining if you have the lowest of action movie expectations/standards.
Director Willy Milan was pretty prolific for over 20 years but most of his stuff didn't get released outside of The Philippines.
The first RUCKUS film was a sort-of a proto-FIRST BLOOD deal with Dirk Benedict as a Vietnam vet who gets hassled in a small California town and Linda Blair helps him. There's obviously no real connection between these 2 films.

EASTERN CONDORS (1987)

Sammo Hung directs and stars in this version of THE DIRTY DOZEN set in Vietnam. Pretty good action packed stuff that is mostly a war movie but becomes a kung fu flick for the big ending. There's a Russian roulette homage to THE DEER HUNTER and lots of bloody squibs are on display. Towards the big finale Sammo get to chop off the hand of his future real-life wife(Joyce Godenzi)  with a machete. Weird kink!

OPIUM STRIKE FORCE (1983)

From the land of Thai food comes this warsploitation action flick. Unfortunately it's filled with lots of dull dialogue for a whole lot of the movie before finally(the last half hour!) getting to some explodey scenes. It also has a sorta men-in-prison thing going on for a lot of the run-time which I guess is cheaper to shoot. The wacky dubbing does result in some humorous bits but that's about all I can recommend from this one. AKA RAIDERS OF THE GOLDEN TEMPLE(I guess they were trying to capitalize on that LOST ARK fame at the time)
The same director(Sumat Saichur) and star(Sorapong Chatree) would sorta remake this with the similarly titled RAIDERS OF THE DOOMED KINGDOM which is supposedly better but I'm not in too much of a rush to see it.

Not 1 black chick that I saw in this movie but that didn't stop the VHS release from going with this cover:
