LADY OF THE STABLE (1991)

  Japanese director Hisayasu Sato is known for making pretty extreme pinky violence movies and this certainly falls into that category. Not so much violence in this one, until the very end which gets very stabby, this one deals more with a lady who has a very strong affection for horses(she even masturbates with a bloody severed horsedick at one point!) and seems to get seuxally assaulted a whole lot. Sadly the copy I watched of this, and seemingly the only version currently available, is a very dark VHS rip which makes following what little plot exists a bit rough. Not sure though if even a pristine blu-ray would help all that much since this is clearly in the obtuse artsy-fartsy zone and even at a mere 59 minutes this was a bit of a chore to finish. 

 Also goes by the amazing title of NEIGH MEANS YES!

A HAUNTED TURKISH BATHHOUSE (1975)

  This 70s Japanese flick plays mostly as one of those pinky violence movies about a whorehouse and a gangster  dude who treats his wife, and pretty much everyone else, like shit(including murdering them!) up until it becomes a revenge-filled ghost tale towards the end.  They also throw in some comedy for better or worse(who doesn't love a bubbledance?), a pinch of Edgar Allen Poe(The Black Cat sees everything!) and we get a memorable cat-lady monster who claws and kung fus her way to vengeance. Definitely a unique one that furries might really dug,  

TERRIFYING GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL: LYNCH LAW CLASSROOM (1973)

 Very similar to the GIRL BOSS QUERILLA movies (it stars Miki Sugimoto and Reiko Ike who are in most of those movies also) but not actually part of that series. This one takes place in a reform school for troubled girls. It starts right out with a pretty brutal torture and murder scene but then the tone of the movies shifts wildly in intensity from super serious to scenes that would seem tailor-made for a typical teen sex comedy of the 80s. I think the silliness is what keeps this one from being higher-rated by fans of this sleazy subgenre but I'd still say to check it out for some pinky violence goodness. You do get lightbulbs in vaginas, shock treatment, straight razor hijinks and lots of naked flesh on display. So what's not to love?

ZERO WOMAN: RED HANDCUFFS (1974)

 The first ZERO WOMAN film. The rest wouldn't come out until the 90s and 2000s and from what I've seen are total garbage. This one here I recall being particularly putrid. Luckily this first entry is the complete opposite. Full of insane violence, multiple rapes, police brutality involving a blowtorch, bondage and other disgusting acts, this one delivers all the goods that the later series doesn't. The plot, involving our main character(Miki Sugimoto) going undercover to rescue an important hostage from a gang of semi-retarded rape-happy knuckleheads is a bit clunky(I mean the gang seems fairly incompetent right from the start so why didn't the police just murder everyone right away?) but if you don't want to think too much and just want some over the top brutality give this a watch.

FEMALE PRISONER #701 SCORPION- BEAST STABLE (1974)

 There's a lady prostitute in this who keeps her retarded brother barricaded in a closet and only takes him out to feed him and regularly have sex with him. She winds up getting impregnated by him and then getting a forced(by her pimps/gangster bosses) abortion where a doctor rips her 6-month old baby out with a large hook. This isn't the main plot of the film but definitely the most unforgettable part of this to me. The main plot deals with the fugitive known as Scorpion(the great Meiko Kaji returning from FEMALE PRISONER #701: SCORPION) on the run from the law. It starts out with a bang as a neck gets sliced and an arm hacked off before the credits even role. Things do end up back in women-in-prison territory before it's all over with a bit of a confusing ending. Overall though while not as spectacular and artsy as the first film this one is still a good shocking follow-up.
 This is the 3rd film in the FEMALE SCORPION series and was meant to be the last part of the trilogy. I guess they made some money though because they went on to make one more with Meiko Kaji and then a few with various new leads. I've only seen the first film and this 3rd entry but they are pretty amazing examples of some good Japanese pinky violence so I look forward to viewing the rest when I get a hold of them.

DELINQUENT GIRL BOSS: WORTHLESS TO CONFESS (1971)

 Watching this right after viewing one of it's predecessors in the "girl boss" series BLOSSOMING NIGHT DREAMS I can't help but see some very similar plot points here. It all starts off with a riot in a women's prison and ends with a girl-gang samurai-movie-like sword battle just like in that earlier film. In between there's lots of melodrama and things never get quite as sleazy, with the exception of our main gal being forced to strip for some gangsters, a smutty nudity shop and some sexy go-go dancing ladies, as many other "pinky violence" films do. Still, as with pretty much all of these films, it's all really well done despite there being too many characters to deal with at times. If you're looking for a drama-heavy gangster flick almost bordering on being a martial arts movie with a moderate amount of sex and violence thrown in, but nothing really over-the-top insane, give this a watch. The ending sequence alone makes it worth it. AKA DELINQUENT GIRL BOSS: UNWORTHY OF PENANCE

GIRL BOSS REVENGE (1973)

 Follow up to GIRL BOSS GUERILLA featuring the same leading actress and gang leader, Miko Sugimoto. In this they swap the name of the gang from The Red Helmets to The Gypsies and it's not actually a sequel but just another similar tale of gal gangs going up against the mob. This one cuts down on the humor and instead ups the nasty violence and rape to a pretty high-level making you really hate the gangsters in this by the time it's payback time. As is the case with many rape/revenge-type films I'm always left with the feeling that the vengeance never equals the torture that the protagonists are put through. Maybe if I had a fetish for tying up and/or slapping around Japanese women this wouldn't bother me so much. You get plenty of catfights, some glowing-hot metal shoved into ladies orifices, double-crossing Yakuza and low-life street-trash ladies showing they have higher loyalty than classy-looking gangster fellows. A well-made film that you probably shouldn't watch with your mom.

GIRL BOSS GUERILLA (1972)

 One part biker flick, one larger part girl gang/crime-drama this one is up there near the top with STRAY CAT ROCK: SEX HUNTER as one of the best "Pinky Violence" movies from Japan. This one is part of a whole series of "girl delinquents(aka sukeban)" films. I recently picked up a bunch of these and am working my way through them. This one is chock full of catfights, exposed breasts, sex scenes that range from comical to rapey, s & m, rope-bondage and a burned vagina that's guaranteed to piss off feminists, they also throw in some toilet humor to top it all off. There's naughty nuns, evil Yakuza, a rockin' soundtrack(besides the weird folk music from a guy who has an acoustic guitar that sounds like a piano) and a great opening scene featuring a biker fellow with an EASY RIDER t-shirt and stripey pants getting his ass kicked by badass biker chicks. It's basically got everything you want in a 70s exploitation flick except for maybe a werewolf or Pam Grier.

TRUE STORY OF A WOMAN IN JAIL: CONTINUES (1975)

 If you enjoy naked Asian women and women-in-prison films this may be the perfect movie. I've never seen the first chapter in this sordid saga but that doesn't seem to matter since this is a tale in itself. Girls get peed on, water, vegetation and a snake(I think) gets forced into a vagina, naked cat-fights abound, lesbian antics ensue involving a jailhouse-dildo, a gal is kicked in the stomach until she has an abortion, the Yakuza get involved in an ultra-scummy prostitution/slavery ring and the overall sleaze level never dips very low throughout it's run-time(which clocks in at a speedy 70 minutes). There's also a mother/daughter rape scene that leads to a whole bonus rape/revenge movie within your women-in-prison flick.  What more could you need?
 I need to track down the first TRUE STORY OF A WOMAN IN JAIL: SEX HELL but I can't imagine it's possibly any more epic and sleazy than this one. There's also a sequel to this titled NEW TRUE STORY OF A WOMAN CONDEMNED TO HELL.

ZOOM IN: SEX APARTMENTS (1980)

 This Japanese Pink film, or Roman-Porno as these later movies are called, features some pretty amazingly gruesome violence mixed in with the multiple rape scenes. They also pack it into a movie that only runs a little over an hour which is a good way to avoid things feeling dragged out. It also seems to pay tribute to the Italian giallo genre with a black-gloved assailant. Though since there's really only like one main male character in this whole film it's not much of a mystery who the killer is. You get some eye-violence, many women are raped and then have their crotches doused in gasoline and set on fire. Our main female character stands behind her man no matter what kind of a sexual deviant he is even after raping a seemingly retarded gal right in front of her. A strange beautifully shot, typically misogynistic flick from a genre that specializes in that kind of thing. It should make you feel dirty after viewing like any good piece of art worth mentioning. The original title actually translates more closely to ZOOM IN: RAPE APARTMENTS but I guess that was an overly controversial title to slap on a DVD in these shitty overly politically correct times.

LEGENDS OF THE POISONOUS SEDUCTRESS: QUICK-DRAW OKATSU (1969)

 I have this film on a DVD as part of The Pinky Violence Collection set. Now whenever I think of a Pink film I always figure they take place in modern-day(which was actually the 70's for the most part) Japan. This one takes place back in the swords and samurais days so it's really more of a period piece but they do throw in some more typical Pink film themes like rape and attempted abortion. They also feature a couple of ladies who are in a bunch of the Pinky films from these times so I guess that's why they slip into this category. This is also way more violent than your standard Zatoichi film with heads rolling, a hand lopped-off, eye-violence, torture scenes and lots of red stuff flowing. Not as sleazy as I mighta hoped but still worth checking out to fans of the more classic samurai genre with some modern deviance thrown in.
 This is actually the 2nd part of a trilogy of LEGENDS OF THE POISONOUS SEDUCTRESS series following OHYAKU: THE FEMALE DEMON and followed by OKATSU THE FUGITIVE. I've never seen any of the others but they don't seem to be direct sequels anyway but more of a thematic thing with similar characters.

BLIND BEAST (1969)

Japanese softcore sex flicks from the 60's and 70's (or Pink films to all you movie snobs out there) are some strange pieces of cinema.  They can either be offensive due to the submissive role of Japanese women on display or exciting depending on your perspective.  This one has a really simple plot about a crazy blind sculptor and his mom who kidnap a model and hold her in a nutty studio where all kinds of insane sexual hi-jinks ensue.  The set-design is really something to see as the studio is filled with sculptures of giant boobs and various body parts and also two giant female figures.  What starts off as simple gratuitous ass fondling leads down a weirder and more violent path as the film plays on and you get an appropriately bizarre ending to what seems like a S & M-fan's wet dream.  It is a little long for such a thin story but worth checking out for its oddity and  you should add extra points if you're into submissive fetishistic type of stuff.

FLOWER AND SNAKE (1974)

A thoroughly sleazy bit of sexual perversion from Japan that I think is supposed to sorta be a comedy too but filled with bondage, rape, forced-enemas and characters that have very few redeeming social values I'm not sure if the comedy aspect is gonna shine through to most American viewers. This is the movie that is supposed to have started a whole genre known as Roman Porno. What that label means I'm not really sure since they're not Roman or even really pornos as we know them today. This particular film has many sequels and remakes. If the rest of them are as strange and amazingly disgusting as this one I gotta check them out. The plot has to do with a weird-o boss, who has some wacky kinks, which include attempted rape and giving the maid a surprise enema in the garden, who wants to get his wife trained to be more subservient, so he gets an impotent lowlife employee of his to do this using torture, bondage, rape and forceful enemas of his own. While this is going on the employees mom is busy shooting pornos in the basement with a large black gentleman and abusing her sons hostage whenever she feels like it. It's an all out sleaze-fest and overall not a very feminist film to say the least. I think the final message is that men are lovable even though they are all creepy rapist losers or is it that the woman is able to control everything even though it seems like she is powerless? I guess it depends on your point of view. It may be close to being one of the most perfect films for miscreants and pervo's so of course I recommend it highly.
