I haven't seen Bruno Mattei's CRUEL JAWS yet but as far as Italian JAWS rip-off movies go this one is my favorite shitty spaghetti-killer shark flick so far. It's pretty much exactly what you would imagine with pretty awful mechanical monster shark FX inter-cut with stock footage of actual sharks(thanks to this the shark's size keeps drastically changing from moment to moment), lots of gory scenes with people losing limbs and half their bodies to our hungry predator, a shark eating a helicopter(which also happens in JAWS 2), bad dubbing and an overflowing helping of general cheesy madness. The shark roars when he gets angry which seems like an odd choice of a sound effect and Vic Morrow gets to play the Quint role. Thank you Enzo Castellari for directing this along with all your other crazy-ass movies.
Fun facts:
This was released in the U.S. as GREAT WHITE for a really short time before Universal sued over it being a JAWS-clone and that was the end of that.
